On the LPX spot market hourly power contracts can be traded from 1 megawatt-hour in 0.1 megawatt-hour-steps for the delivery on the following day. The spot market is based on two sided auction bidding to calculate prices in combination with a closed order book. The bids placed by a trading participant are not revealed to the other trading participants in order to avoid influencing of the market or prices. Bids are transmitted through the transmission software Elweb. The training participants can transmit their purchase and sales bids for the following day for each hour by combining the prices and volumes. Purchase and sales bids transmitted to the LPX by fax have to be received completely by LPX by 11:30am st the latest. Purchase and sale bids transmitted to LPX by ElWeb have to be received completely by LPX by 12 noon at the latest. The historical data refers to the day the contract was traded.
