Replaces the 1982 series (INCPIW8Y index) The index measures year on year changes in the level of prices of a fixed basket of goods and services consumed by industrial workers. The weighting pattern is based on a survey in 2001 which derived the average expenditure of factory workers at 78 centres in the country.
