Great Northern Iron Ore Properties (GNIOP) is a conventional nonvoting trust. The trust owns mineral and non-mineral lands on the Mesabi Iron Range of Minnesota. GNIOP receives royalties on iron ore minerals, principally taconite, mined from these properties which are under lease to major steel producers. The Trust will cease to trade on NYSE on April 6, 2015.
