Brazilian SELIC Target rate (Meta do SELIC) is the benchmark rate set by the Brazilian Central Bank. The SELIC target was created on March 4, 1999, replacing the TBC and TBAN rates (the previous benchmark rates). The SELIC target is fixed by COPOM (Monetary Policy Committee). To see when the next meeting will happen, type CPOM <GO>. Also on the same day, the COPOM announces the "VIES", which is the right given to the Brazilian Central Bank's president to decide, at any moment between two COPOM meetings, and set a higher or lower rate than the current rate. For historical information, type BZSTSETA < Index > HP <GO>.
