Clinton Says She’ll Testify to Benghazi Panel If It Stays Open

“If they’re going to have it still running, I’ll be there and I’m looking forward to answering questions about real things when I’m there and I’m looking forward to having a chance to explain everything we’ve done, everything that I asked to happen, but it’s not appropriate what they’ve done,” Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton says at New Hampshire town hall-style event hosted by NBC.

  • Benghazi committee was set up “to make a partisan political issue out of the deaths of four Americans”
    • Decision about whether to keep panel open is “up to the Congress”
    • NOTE: Clinton is set to testify Oct. 22
  • Says private e-mail use was allowed but was not the “best choice”
    • “I’m a little embarrassed that the e-mails are so boring in many instances”
