A “wide open field with a lot of good choices” made it hard to find financial support, former Republican presidential candidate Scott Walker says in call with donors and supporters.
- Walker, the governor of Wisconsin, says going to get “back to work”
- “When revenues are not meeting expenditures, you’ve got to look seriously at what sort of action to take”
- “If we narrow the field to just a few quality, positive conservative alternatives to the current frontrunner,” he says in reference to Donald Trump, “that’s not only good for the party, it’s good for this country”
- Says he was frustrated by CNN debate last week because of number of questions “around negative attacks that the frontrunner had issued on others”
