If Iranians hold up their end of nuclear pact “I think it will be impossible” for a future Republican president to break agreement, Sen. Richard Durbin, D-Ill., says.
- “What they’ll do is walk away from an effort to control the development of a nuclear weapon. They’re not going to have a very welcome audience at that point from our allies who joined us in these sanctions”
- NOTE: Senate Democrats today blocked a Republican effort to scuttle the pact; every major GOP presidential candidate opposes deal and several have promised to end agreement on their first day in office
