Abedin Lawyer Calls Allegations ‘Unfounded,’: New York Times

Miguel Rodriguez, lawyer for Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin, says Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa., is damaging Abedin’s reputation with “unfounded allegations,” New York Times reports.

  • Rodriguez sent letter to State Dept responding to questions posed by Grassley, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Cmte
    • NOTE: Grassley inquiring if Abedin had been overpaid during maternity leave, had conflict of interest while working at State Dept
  • “We are deeply concerned that Chairman Grassley’s letter has unfairly tarnished Ms. Abedin’s reputation by making unsubstantiated allegations that appear to flow from misinformation that Chairman Grassley has been provided by an unnamed — and apparently unreliable — source,” Rodriguez writes
  • NOTE: Abedin was aide to Hillary Clinton at State Dept, now works for Clinton’s presidential campaign
