San Andreas Fault

San Andreas Fault

Elin McCoy/Bloomberg

On a relief map, a winemaker at Hirsch Vineyards Ross Cobb points out the line of the San Andreas Fault just below the Hirsch winery near Cazadero, CA. The fault line, where two tectonic plates of the earth's crust meet, runs along the west coast of Sonoma and it's seismic activity caused the high ridges on which Hirsch Vineyards sits.
