Japan Stakes $62 Billion on World’s Fastest Train

A magnetic-levitation (maglev) train at Central Japan Railway Co.'s Yamanashi Maglev Test Line in Tsuru City, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. The maglev train will travel between Tokyo and Nagoya, Japan’s fourth-largest city, at a speed of 500 kilometers per hour (311 miles per hour) when the line is completed in 2027.
