A German World War II-vintage ``ENIGMA'' cipher machine. The item was offered in Christie's International's Nov. 23 auction of books and manuscripts in London. Capable of producing characters with a possible total of 15 billion billion readings, the machine was expected to fetch between 30,000 pounds and 50,000 pounds. It fetched 67,250 pounds.
