Olivia Sterns

Olivia Sterns is a New York-based general assignment reporter for Bloomberg Television. She covers international business stories, with a focus on health care and the pharmaceutical industries.

Previously, Sterns was based in London, covering international business and politics for Bloomberg Television. She has most recently reported live from South Africa on the mining strikes, from the Paris Motor Show and from the IFA Tech Conference in Berlin. She regularly covered the European debt crisis from London. She has interviewed Burberry CEO Angela Ahrendts, Peugeot CEO Philippe Varin, Virgin founder Richard Branson and Vodafone CEO Vittorio Colao. Past assignments from Dubai to Davos have included interviews with economic leaders such as the Saudi Finance Minister, the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer and the Director General of the WTO.

Prior to joining Bloomberg Television in January 2010, Sterns worked as a writer and producer for CNN.com, ABCNews.com and the Huffington Post. She also served as the host of "City Scoop" on NYCTV in New York. In pursuing her interest in Middle East and Central Asian politics, Sterns has traveled to more than 70 countries including Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, Lebanon, Syria and Egypt.

Sterns graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science. She also earned her Master’s of Science degree in Global Politics from the London School of Economics, with distinction.
