NEW YORK — Ted Moncreiff has been named Editor of Bloomberg Pursuits magazine, the global lifestyle luxury publication from Bloomberg Markets magazine.
Moncreiff will report to Bloomberg Markets Editor Ron Henkoff.
Moncreiff brings to his new job deep experience in luxury lifestyle journalism. He worked for Condé Nast Traveler for 15 years, including four years as executive editor. Following that, he was executive editor at Newsweek, and then executive editor and content strategist at W magazine.
Moncrieff was most recently the editorial director of Condé Nast Ideactive, the company’s custom publishing division.
Moncreiff’s arrival coincides with the announcement that due to its success with readers and advertisers, Bloomberg Pursuits will increase its frequency to quarterly in 2013 from twice a year in 2012. The magazine will also launch an iPad app version next year.
Bloomberg Pursuits is distributed to all 375,000 Bloomberg Markets subscribers — a highly coveted and affluent readership comprised largely of users of the Bloomberg Professional service (“the terminal”) around the world. The average household income of a Bloomberg Pursuits reader is $490,000 with an average net worth of $2.5 million.
Bloomberg Pursuits will have cover dates of April, June, October and Holiday issues in 2013.
Bloomberg Pursuits for iPad will premiere with the first issue of 2013 and download automatically to subscribers of the Bloomberg Markets+ app.
Bloomberg Pursuits was a success in its two 2012 issues - of the 43 different advertisers to appear in the magazine, half of them were brand new to Bloomberg, including Hermes, Ralph Lauren, Salvatore Ferragamo, Montblanc, Rolls Royce, Harry Winston, Shangri-La Hotels, Ritz Carlton, Bergdorf Goodman and DeLéon Tequila.
Bloomberg Pursuits recently won its first editorial award - the Los Angeles Press Club’s National Entertainment Journalism Award in the Feature/Series Over 1,000 Words category to Katya Kazakina for her “Picasso Reconsidered” article.
