On Wednesday, Bloomberg Pursuits and Bloomberg Markets magazines held their first MLUX luxury event at One Hyde Park. Amid the cocktails and conversation, attendees agreed on one point: despite economic troubles in many countries around the world, the ultra-wealthy are spending. Euromonitor research estimates sales of global luxury goods – this year alone – will increase 3.6% to $330 billion.
Bloomberg Pursuits – a magazine devoted to the world of global luxury living – saw a large increase in ad sales in 2014, and Bloomberg’s Billionaire Index continues to be one of the most popular sites on Bloomberg.com. The MLUX event brought these worlds together.
More than 150 clients joined reporters from both magazines to explore the different areas curated by companies who cater to the ultra rich: Airbus Corporate Jets, Lauge Jenson, Christophe Claret, Harry Brompton’s London Ice Tea and Candy & Candy’s One Hyde Park.
Nick Candy, CEO of Candy & Candy said: “As two global brands operating within the ultra-high-net-worth space, there is a natural synergy between Candy & Candy clients and prospects and the Bloomberg subscriber base.”
