In 1997, with just a handful of journalists, Bloomberg opened an office in San Francisco. Our goal was to be a leader in covering Silicon Valley and the technology industry, but we were on the outside looking in.

That changed. Our commitment to world-class technology coverage won over clients, readers and viewers. We acquired Businessweek and launched Bloomberg West on TV. That handful of journalists grew to nearly 70 reporters and editors. Silicon Valley has taken notice.
