Ever since Marissa Mayer took on the role of Yahoo!’s CEO, President and Director, discussions around women in the boardroom have exploded. The Women’s Forum of New York, a preeminent organization of women leaders representing the highest levels of achievement, recently hosted a business symposium at Bloomberg’s headquarters in NYC called “Why Good Governance Needs Great Women.”
Notable business leaders participated including:
• The Honorable Elaine L. Chao, U.S. Secretary of Labor, 2001-2009; Director, Wells Fargo, Dole Food Company, Protective Life
• Dina Dublon, Former CFO, JPMorgan Chase & Co; Director – Accenture, Microsoft, Pepsi Cola
• Anne Mulcahy, Former Chairman and CEO of Xerox; Director – Target Johnson & Johnson, The Washington Post Company
Also joining the conversation — two of our very own who are both passionate and well-versed on the topic: Diane Brady, senior editor and columnist at Bloomberg Businessweek and Lisa Kassenaar, editor at large for Bloomberg’s global women’s coverage.
Diane and Lisa each wrote blog posts after the event highlighting what really hit home for them personally. (See Below)
