Japan Policy to End Deflation Appropriate, IMF Says

Aug. 6 (Bloomberg) -- Jerald Schiff, the International Monetary Fund's mission chief to Japan, talks about the Japanese government's economic policies to boost the nation's growth. While IMF directors “generally” supported Japan’s plan to double a sales tax by 2015, “a few” expressed concern over a possible hit to growth, the fund said yesterday in a statement summarizing the view of its executive board.
