U.S. Jobless Claims Fall; Trade Deficit Jumps

July 3 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. initial jobless claims decreased by 5,000 to 343,000 in the week ended June 29 from a revised 348,000 in the prior period, the Labor Department reported today in Washington. Separately, the trade deficit widened by 12.1 percent to $45 billion, the biggest since November, Commerce Department figures showed.
