Anglo American Takes $4B Minas-Rio Writedown

Jan. 29 (Bloomberg) -- Bloomberg's Caroline Hyde reports that Anglo American Plc will write down $4 billion of the value of its Minas-Rio iron-ore project in Brazil and raise estimated spending a sixth time after expense blowouts forced Chief Executive Officer Cynthia Carroll to quit.
