Obama Warns of `Haywire' Markets If Debt Limit Hit

Jan. 14 (Bloomberg) -- President Barack Obama speaks at a White House news conference about negotiations over raising the U.S. debt ceiling, deficit reduction and gun control. Obama warned Congress against using the debt ceiling as leverage in the spending debate, saying "markets could go haywire" and government payments will be held up if the limit isn’t raised.
