Sept. 11 (Bloomberg) -- Suzanne Kosek, a fourth-grade teacher at Sandoval Elementary School on Chicago's southwest side, talks about Mayor Rahm Emanuel's contract proposal to Chicago teachers and their decision to strike. Chicago teachers struck yesterday, closing classrooms for about 350,000 students and prompting Emanuel to stop raising money for President Barack Obama’s re-election so he may devote time to settling the city’s first walkout in 25 years.
