July 17 (Bloomberg) -- Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke speaks about the Federal Reserve's semi-annual monetary policy report before the House Financial Services Committee in Washington. Bernanke told Congress the central bank’s asset purchases are not on a "preset course” and could be reduced more quickly or expanded as economic conditions warrant.
