Senate Panel Backs Fischer for Fed Vice Chair

April 29 (Bloomberg) -- Stanley Fischer’s bid to be Federal Reserve vice chairman won support today from the Senate Banking Committee, sending the former Bank of Israel governor’s nomination to the Senate for confirmation.
