Akzo Blighted by Added $3.3 Billion Writedown

Akzo Nobel NV, maker of Glidden and Dulux paints, booked a 2.5 billion euro ($3.3 billion) writedown of decorative coatings operations after a prolonged attempt to overhaul the division amid weakened demand.
