Blyvoor Gold Mine Closure Leaves Town Desolate

Dec. 18 (Bloomberg) -- The Blyvooruitzicht gold mine, southwest of Johannesburg, was shuttered in July when metal extraction became unprofitable following a plunge in global gold prices and soaring electricity costs.
