Venice Faces Cruise Tourism Threat

Big cruise liners enter Venice through the Giudecca Canal to offer their passangers a spectacular view. A business that generates around $323 million a year. But following the wreck of the Costa Concordia environmentalists have stepped up their efforts to have large cruise ships banned from the lagoon.
