State Senator Seeks to End the `Jersey Left'

Feb. 4 (Bloomberg) -- A New Jersey Transit bus executes a "Jersey left" turn after exiting Rt. 1 in Lawrence, N.J., via a jughandle. Jughandles channel motorists to a right lane around a curve toward a traffic signal to make U-turns or left turns off a major roadway. State Senator James Holzapfel says jughandles are a bad idea and has proposed legislation that seeks to prohibit jughandle construction in the state. (Source: Bloomberg)
