Sept. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Bob Sutherland, owner of Cherry Republic eatery and gift shop in Glen Arbor, Michigan, discusses the influx of out-of-state visitors to Michigan's Traverse City area, and the boon to local businesses. According to Brad Van Dommelen, president of the Traverse City Convention & Visitors Bureau, out-of-state customers at Traverse City area lodging rose 32 percent overall this summer, and visitors from New York increased almost 60 percent.
