BAC Mono Provides Taste of Formula One at $170,000

May 2 (Bloomberg) -- Bloomberg auto columnist Jason Harper drives the BAC Mono, a single-seat sports car with an open cockpit that looks like a simplified Formula One car. The Mono is made by Briggs Automotive Co. of Cheshire, England. It weighs 1,400 pounds and features a carbon-fiber body, a 3.2-liter Cosworth four-cylinder engine that makes 280 horsepower and a six-speed race-engineered sequential transmission.
