U.S. Jobless Claims Decline; Housing Starts Falls

July 17 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. Jobless claims declined by 3,000 to 302,000 in the week ended July 12, a Labor Department report showed today in Washington. Another report today showed home construction unexpectedly declined in to a nine-month low. Builders began work on 893,000 homes at an annualized rate in June, down 9.3 percent from the prior month, according to Commerce Department figures.
