Christie Says Ugly Facade of American Dream Project Needs to Go
Governor Chris Christie said work on the stalled American Dream mall and entertainment complex in New Jersey’s Meadowlands is about to re-start with a project labor agreement in place.
Triple Five, the Canada-based developer of the site, plans to spend as much as $2 billion to complete the project, Christie told construction-union members at Izod Center in East Rutherford, adjacent to the site. Among the first tasks, Christie said, is to get the ugly multicolored facade, viewable from the New Jersey Turnpike, “the hell off the building.”
