HP Accuses ServiceNow of Infringing Sotware Patents
ServiceNow, a direct competitor of HP’s in information technology management, is infringing patents for managing Web services, automating IT incidents and modeling communications networks, according to the complaint filed today in federal court in California and assigned to a judge in San Jose.
HP, the Palo Alto, California-based computer and printer maker, is demanding a royalty in addition to the unspecified damages, plus a court order to permanently block ServiceNow from infringing.
Steve Schick, a spokesman for Santa Clara, California-based ServiceNow, didn’t immediately respond to a voice-mail message seeking comment on the lawsuit.
The case is Hewlett-Packard Co. v. ServiceNow Inc., 14-cv-00570, U.S. District Court, Northern District of California (San Jose).
