Asset Classes at All-Time Highs -- and Lows: Ritholtz Chart
Click for an interactive graphic.
This neat interactive chart from the folks at Russell Investments that shows the historical and typical ranges and the most recent 12-month return to help contextualize asset class performance.
Interestingly, many asset classes were near the top (Large Cap U.S. Equity, Large Cap Defensive U.S. Equity, Small Cap U.S. Equity, Non-U.S. Equity, Global Equity) or bottom (Emerging Markets, Commodities, Cash, Emerging Markets Debt, U.S. Bonds) of their historical ranges in 2013.
You can see some of the prior asset class dashboards here, but I’d really love to see this data depicted visually over longer periods of time. It is quite fascinating.
