Netanyahu Has Polyp Removed From Colon as Kerry Heads to Mideast
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu underwent a medical procedure to have a polyp removed from his colon, his office said.
Doctors said Netanyahu, 64, was otherwise in good health after a gastrointestinal examination at Shaare Zedek hospital in Jerusalem, according to a text message from his office.
“The small polyp was removed in its entirety,” according to the message, citing Dr. Eran Goldin, director of the hospital’s gastrointestinal department. The prime minister underwent surgery for a hernia in August.
Netanyahu left the hospital after the exam, which comes a day before U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is due to visit Jerusalem and the West Bank for another round of meetings aimed at reaching an Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement.
