Inter Milan’s Moratti Agrees to Sell 70% to Thohir-Led Group
Massimo Moratti agreed to sell 70 percent of FC Internazionale Milano SpA to a group of Indonesian investors led by Erick Thohir, according to a statement posted on the soccer team’s website.
International Sports Capital, indirectly controlled by Thohir, Rosan Roeslani and Handy Soetedjo, will purchase the stake of the Italian club through a capital increase reserved for them. It didn’t disclose financial details.
Founded in 1908, Inter Milan has won 18 Italian championships, three UEFA Champions League trophies and two Intercontinental Cups.
Thohir, who is based in Jakarta, is founder and president of Mahaka Group, a media and entertainment business, according to the Inter statement. He is co-owner of the Major League Soccer team D.C. United.
