Beijing to Speed Up Building Reclaimed Water Plants, Xinhua Says
Beijing will accelerate the construction of sewage treatment and reclaimed water facilties, the official Xinhua News Agency reported yesterday.
The capital of China plans to build 47 new recycled-water plants from 2013 to 2015, including six slated for completion this year, Xinhua said, citing the Beijing Water Authority.
Reclaimed water has become the second-biggest source of water in Beijing and can be used for industries and agriculture, the report said.
The city will also upgrade 20 sewage treatment plants by 2015, Xinhua said.
