Century Aluminum Reaches Accord on Power for Kentucky Smelter
Century Aluminum Co. (CENX), the third- largest U.S. producer of the metal, said it reached a tentative accord with Kenergy Corp. and Big Rivers Electric Corp. about providing market-priced power to its Hawesville smelter in Kentucky.
Hawesville has a capacity of 244,000 metric tons of aluminum and employs 650 people, Monterey, California-based Century said today in a statement.
