Rain Postponses Qualifying at Formula One Australian Grand Prix
The final two qualifying sessions at Formula One’s season-opening Australian Grand Prix were postponed because of heavy rain.
Only the first session were able to be run yesterday, after a delayed start, at the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne. Rain and darkness then forced officials to push the final two sessions to 11 a.m. local time today, six hours before the schedule race.
The 2010 Japanese Grand Prix in Suzuka was the last Formula One race with Sunday qualifying.
