Cuba’s Raul Castro Picked for Second Term as Fidel Looks On
Cuban President Raul Castro was chosen to serve for a second term as the communist government eases control over businesses and employment.
Joined by his older brother Fidel at a National Assembly meeting, the 82-year-old Castro will lead the Caribbean island for at least another five years, state-run CubaDebate said on its website today.
Miguel Diaz Canel, 52, will serve as first-vice president, CubaDebate said.
