Police Busts International Gambling Ring, Xinhua Reports

Police from China, Cambodia, Vietnam and Myanmar jointly broke up an international online gambling ring with turnover of about 11 billion yuan ($1.8 billion), Xinhua News Agency said, citing Chinese police.

Police confiscated more than 32 million yuan of gambling money and arrested 27 suspects, all Chinese, after an investigation that lasted more than two years, Xinhua said, citing police in central China’s Hubei province.

The case involved more than 500 Chinese and foreigners, the official news agency said.
