Kazakhstan May Start Refinery Construction Next Year, IFX Says

TOO Kazenergoregion plans to start construction of an 8 billion-euro ($10.5 billion) oil refinery in northern Kazakhstan next year, Interfax reported.
The closely held company will invest 2 billion euros in an initial phase at the planned plant in Bulaevo, Interfax reported today, citing a company official.
The refinery will process as much as 6 million metric tons of crude a year at first and 12 million tons of oil when the second phase is completed, Interfax reported.
