Monti to Quit on Day of Budget Vote, If Assured of Its Passage
Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti will resign on the day the 2013 budget law is due to be approved, if parliamentary political parties will ensure its passage, Monti spokewswoman Elisabetta Olivi said.
Should the parties fail to assure the premier that the budget will be approved, Monti will immediately resign, Olivi said today in a telephone interview.
