Portugal Signs Eight Mining Contracts Worth 3.8 Million Euros

The Portuguese government signed eight mining contracts worth 3.8 million euros with companies interested in searching for gold, silver, wolfram and other resources in the southern European country.
“This is a sector that is in clear expansion,” Economy Minister Alvaro Santos Pereira told reporters today in Lisbon.
Portugal’s government has signed about 95 mining contracts since it came into power last year, he said.
