Knicks Defeat Pistons 121-100 to Remain Perfect at Home in NBA
The New York Knicks snapped a two- game losing run to beat the Detroit Pistons 121-100 and remain undefeated through five home games in the National Basketball Association regular season.
Carmelo Anthony scored 29 points, Steve Novak added a season-high 18 and J.R. Smith contributed 15 and 10 rebounds as the Knicks improved to 9-3 this season.
The Knicks are at local rival the Brooklyn Nets tomorrow in a game that was postponed by Hurricane Sandy.
Brandon Knight scored 21 points and Charlie Villanueva had 17 for Detroit, which has now lost six straight at Madison Square Garden in New York. The Pistons are now 3-11 after opening the season with eight straight defeats.
The Knicks began the season 8-1 before back-to-back defeats in Texas to the Dallas Mavericks and the Houston Rockets.
Rasheed Wallace also scored 15 points for New York, while Raymond Felton had 14 and 10 assists.
