Cardinals Beat Giants 6-4 in Opening Game of MLB Playoff Series

David Freese and Carlos Beltran hit two-run home runs and the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the host San Francisco Giants 6-4 in the opening game of the National League Championship Series.
Game 2 of the best-of-seven Major League Baseball playoff series is set for tomorrow night in San Francisco.
In the American League, the Detroit Tigers defeated the New York Yankees 3-0 to take a two-games-to-none lead in their championship series. Both games have been in New York.
The Cardinals jumped out to a 6-0 lead and then held on as the Giants scored four unanswered runs. St. Louis used seven pitchers in the game.
