Egypt Will Remove Industry Subsidies Over Time, Ahram Reports

Egypt plans gradually to remove subsidies for the cement, fertilizer and iron and steel industries, the state-run Ahram reported, citing Hatem Saleh, the industry and foreign trade minister.

The policy, which was agreed on during a national dialogue between the government and businessmen, will also include the gradual removal of subsidies for the food industry, the newspaper said.
