Vietnam’s Stocks: Ninh Van Bay Real Estate, TMT Automobile
Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Vietnam trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the 2:15 p.m. close in Ho Chi Minh City. The VN Index (VNINDEX), the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, dropped for a seventh day, losing 1.6 percent to 442.58, the lowest close since April 4.
Ninh Van Bay Real Estate Joint-Stock Co. (NVT) , which develops and manages resorts, slumped 4.6 percent to 4,200 dong, the biggest decline since Feb. 15. The company posted a net loss of 11.7 billion dong ($560,000) for the first quarter this year, according to an exchange filing. That compared with a loss of 4.2 billion dong in the same period last year.
TMT Automobile Joint-Stock Co. (TMT) , a Hanoi-based maker of automobile products, dropped 1.8 percent to 5,600 dong. The company will suspend operations at a branch in the southern province of Binh Duong from June 1 for six months, it said in a statement on the exchange’s website, without giving a reason.
