Israel Stocks: Ampal-American Israel and A-Online Capital
Israel’s TA-25 index declined the most in more than a week, falling 1.2 percent to 1,148.28 at the 4:30 p.m. close in Tel Aviv. Investors traded about 736 million shekels ($196 million) of shares and convertible securities, according to bourse data.
The following stocks rose or fell today. Symbols are in parentheses.
Ampal-American Israel (AMPL) Corp slumped 19 percent to 0.775 shekel, the lowest close since Bloomberg began tracking the stock in August 2006. Ampal, owner of 12.5 percent of East Mediterranean Gas Co., said it had been advised by EMG that Egyptian General Petroleum Corp. and the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Co. were terminating the gas-supply agreement.
A-Online Capital AOC Ltd. (AOC) surged the most since June 2004, rallying 20 percent to 0.30 shekel. The financial markets software maker agreed to buy Harel Finance Trade & Securities Ltd. from Harel Insurance Investments & Financial Services Ltd. (HARL) for about 84 million shekels. Harel Insurance dropped 1.7 percent, the most since April 15, to 139.90 shekels.
