Boston College, Ferris State Advance to NCAA Ice Hockey Final
Top-seeded Boston College and No. 14 seed Ferris State University advanced to the final in college ice hockey’s national men’s tournament.
Boston College defeated sixth-seeded Minnesota 6-1 and Ferris State upset third-seeded Union College 3-1 in the National Collegiate Athletic Association tournament yesterday at Tampa Bay Times Forum.
The championship game is tomorrow in Tampa Bay.
Paul Carey scored twice for Boston College, which also got goals from Steven Whitney, Kevin Hayes, Chris Kreider and Brian Dumoulin. Jake Hansen gave Minnesota its only score at the start of the third period.
In the earlier game, Aaron Schmit had two goals and Kyle Bonis contributed the third for Ferris State. Daniel Carr had a goal for Union in the first period.
