China’s Antibiotic Resistance Rate as High as 80%, Xinhua Says
China’s antibiotic resistance rates had risen as high as 80 percent fof some bacteria collected in 2010, Xinhua News Agency said, citing Lu yuan, head of Peking University’s Institute of Clinical Pharmacology.
China’s resistance rate is higher than elsewhere, and the government “has paid great atttention” to the use of antibacterial drugs, the official news service reported. The study took 270,000 samples from 128 hospitals, Xinhua said.
